DHT and DHEA

DHT, DHEA and Maxogen

What are DHT and DHEA?

DHT
is a as a natural by-product of testosterone metabolism. It is a powerful hormone that only acts on androgen receptors and is directly responsible for libido and erectile health. Assessment of DHT levels is essential, particularly if you are concerned about sexual dysfunction.

DHEA is the most abundant steroid hormone in the human body. It has long been identified as an important building block (precursor) for testosterone.

Over the past 10 years, however, research has also confirmed that DHEA performs many other important functions. The most critical of these? Helping the body adapt to and cope with stress. Low levels of DHEA have been associated with poor immune function, depression, cardiovascular disease, Alzheimer’s disease, hypothyroidism and diabetes.

How do DHT and DHEA help sexual health?

Because hormones impact virtually every major organ in the body, optimum hormonal health is essential for looking, feeling and performing your best. Each and every hormone found in the body has a unique and specific role. Steroid hormones are a particular class of hormones, primarily produced by the adrenal glands and testes. Steroid hormones are classified as "anabolic" (i.e. testosterone, DHT, DHEA) or "catabolic" (i.e. estrogen, cortisol) based on their specific effects (i.e. cellular growth, maintenance and/or repair).

Anabolic hormones are essential for healthy muscle growth, tissue repair, immune response and metabolism. Catabolic hormones have just the opposite effect. They promote muscle and tissue breakdown, decreased immunity and reduced metabolism. It is not surprising, then, to learn that anabolic hormone levels reach their peak during a man’s twenties and decrease with age. Catabolic hormone levels increase with age, stress and illness. While small amounts of catabolic hormones are essential for health, the process of aging can be kept "in check" when anabolic hormone levels are high and catabolic levels are low.

Common symptoms of low hormones include fatigue, low sex drive, impotence, muscle loss and weakness, weight gain, irritability and depression. Testosterone imbalances can also lead to more serious disease. Chronic deficiencies in testosterone can disrupt the body's blood sugar metabolism causing obesity and diabetes as well as heart disease and osteoporosis.

Maxogen helps with hormone replacement therapy.

In order to regain your sexual vitality, it is necessary to make changes to your lifestyle to promote good circulatory and neuro health. In addition to diet and exercise and a positive attitude, Maxogen can play a role in aiding your sexual dysfunction by replacing the testosterone you lose as you age.

Maxogen contains a proprietary blend of all-natural ingredients designed to replace what the body loses as a result of aging, illness, injury or lifestyle factors. With natural extracts of saw palmetto, Swedish pollen, red clover and other ingredient, Maxogen works to stimulate desire and help you achieve longer, stronger erections. The less polluted your body is, the better for your circulatory system. The stronger your circulatory system is, the better the blood flow into the genital area, thereby leading to better sexual health.

More than thirty million men in the U.S. suffer from low testosterone, and the vast majority of them don’t even know it. There are three primary reasons why:

1. Neither men, or their doctors, know how to recognize the symptoms of low testosterone.

As the tremendous popularity of erectile medications suggests, many men experience symptoms of male sexual dysfunction. However, physicians typically do not recognize the link between erectile dysfunction and low testosterone. Other commom symptoms of low testosterone are fatigue, loss of muscle tone, abdominal obesity, poor recovery from exercise, emotional symptoms (such as depression, irritability and anxiety) and insomnia—are similarly overlooked or attributed to aging or stress.

2. Lab testing is inadequate.

Even when low testosterone is suspected and laboratory tests are performed, most doctors will only assess total testosterone levels. But since total testosterone is made up almost completely of inactive testosterone, it is not a reliable indicator of testosterone activity. Rather, physicians should be testing “free” or bio-available testosterone levels. In addition, lab assessment is usually incomplete and inadequate because the important male hormones; DHT, estradiol and DHEA are not usually assessed.

3. Modern medicine is disease, not wellness, oriented.

Even when symptoms of low testosterone are present and total testosterone levels have declined from their youthful levels, physicians in the United States do not recognize or treat symptoms of low testosterone unless laboratory tests show that total testosterone levels are dangerously low. Unfortunately, if you are one of the millions of men whose quality of life has been compromised by hormonal imbalances (low free testosterone, DHT and DHEA and/or high estradiol levels), you will not be recognized as suffering from a “disease” and will not qualify for any kind of medical treatment.
